The Portrait Collection of the Munich City Museum
The Munich City Museum preserves around 30,000 portraits from the 16th century to the present days, including drawings, prints, paintings and photographs, portrait busts and sculptures. Like barely any other collection of urban history in Germany, these holdings document urban life in its various facets and at the same time point far beyond the borders of Munich. The 'Portrait Collection of the Munich City Museum' is a cooperation project of the Munich City Museum and the Bavarian State Library.
